CURRENT BODY OF WORK

My current work employs books as the physical media, subject and as metaphor to explore both

personal and societal issues. As objects, each book is unique and carries a personalized energy from its
previous owner and from its contents. I have used this object as : a message carrier; a metaphor for one’s
personal story, both revealing and mysterious; a place to hide; and always a shape to be explored and
manipulated. As an element of sculpture the use of a book as object challenges a viewer’s preconceived
expectations. Digitally manipulated photos used as sculptural objects and media form core elements of this work.
